What To Wear To Your Session
Here are some tips for planning timeless wall portraits that look fabulous in your home.
Tips:
Start by observing the color pallets and designs of the rooms you want to hang your wall portraits in.
Think classic instead of trending. These photos will be hanging in your home for years to come. You want something that is timeless.
Focus on a complimenting color pallet instead of planning for an exact match. Gone are the days of everyone wearing a white or a black top.
Pick 2 or 3 colors that compliment one another. Then add in splashes of white, black, brown, navy, gray, etc.
Start with 1 piece of clothing that you love and build off of it.
Choose things you would normally wear and are comfortable in.
Mix up bottoms with capris, shorts, skirts, pants, etc.
Don’t be scared of patterns, as long as it compliments the overall look.
Layer and accessorize. Jewelry, ties, hats, scarfs, jackets, etc are great add ins.
Bring along Chapstick/lip gloss. Cracked lips are tricky to edit.
Wear bloomers under dresses.
Bring hairpins. Blowing hair is tricky to edit.
Before your session, lay all outfits out on the floor and take a photo. Ask me for feedback and adjust as necessary.
Avoid clothing with heavy text or characters on them. This includes Hollister, SpongeBob, Aeropostale, Mickey Mouse, etc.
Avoid abrupt changes in your hairstyle right before your session.
Avoid heavy tanning right before your session.
Avoid chipped nail polish.
Avoid abrupt/heavy makeup changes.
Avoid abrupt facial hair changes.
