My Editing Style

In today’s industry it is amazing what can be done in Photoshop. Whitening of teeth, slimming of thighs, tummy tucks, the list goes on and on. How a photographer chooses to edit their photos is a style preference. It’s an artistic freedom that each is entitled to. At the end of the day, it plays a major factor in what distinguishes one photographer from the next.

My editing philosophy is to correct, but NOT perfect. I hope that this has become a part of my brand; an identity of my business, and what I am all about.

With each client, it is my goal to celebrate and remind them of the beauty of them and blessings in their life. This means capturing their personality and their relationships with those they love most.

I want my wall portraits to be a pure, honest representation of the client, documenting and celebrating them just as they are.

And so I present to you, my editing philosophy in list form.

I won’t:

Make you look like a perfect porcelain doll

Swap heads

Fix crooked teeth

Make your eyes look like they are glass and glowing

Slim your thighs

Add in textures and overlays

Remove moles/birth marks unless client requests

I do:

Color Correct

Crop the photo do give it the best artistic expression possible

Remove pimples

Fix dry skin patches

Get rid of flying hairs

Remove boogers [and yes I do this quite often]

Remove background distractions in the frame of the photo

Make you look like FABULOUS you
