The truth about those Walmart photos...

That gift that you have been meaning to mail has gotten moved from the kitchen table, to your desk, to the top of the refrigerator, and now it sets in all of its glory….in the JUNK DRAWER.

Are you guilty?

Let’s admit it. We get busy. Things get pushed aside. And things change…..fast! Including technology. You know those floppy discs? How are those working out for you? And that cassette tape?

In the world of photos, I get asked all of the time [do you sell the digital files]? I hate to be the barrier of bad news, but we have reached the doom filled age of digital files [yes your photos] living and dying on your computer or cell phone.

People have good intentions of printing photos themselves. And in a world where you can print anywhere….Walgreens, Snapfish, Target, Walmart, at home,….temptation is certainly there.

I was curious myself, how quality would compare from varying print vendors. So I did a test. I photographed, edited, and then printed the same photo of a little girl at Walmart, Shutterfly, Walgreens, Target, and then through my professional printer.

The results made me gasp.

Target print: [Wait. I thought she had a BLUE shirt on]?!?!

Walgreens print: [Did someone spill a gallon of gloss on this]?!?

Shutterfly print: [Exactly what kind of paper IS this]?!?!

Walmart print: [Wow, I don’t remember this little girl wearing bright red lipstick]?!?!

Some things in this world you get what you pay for folks. Professional portraits and quality service is one of them.

Photographers spend hours upon hours perfecting your photos for a reason. So you can enjoy them as a professional print, exactly how they were intended to look.
